Treatment of hypercholesterolaemia Adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years or over with pure hypercholesterolaemia (type IIa including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia) or mixed dyslipidemia (type IIb) in addition to a diet when the response to diet and other non-pharmacological treatments (exercise, weight loss) is not enough. Homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia, in addition to a diet and other lipid-lowering treatments (especially LDL apheresis) or when these treatments are not appropriate.
