This medicine is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori, and ulcers related to the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
It helps reduce gastric acidity, relieve symptoms such as heartburn and regurgitation, and promote the healing of the esophageal and gastro-duodenal mucosa.
It is also used in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
It may be prescribed for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above, depending on the indication.
