Olanzapine is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia. In patients who initially responded to treatment, olanzapine has been shown to be effective in maintaining this clinical improvement over time. Olanzapine is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe manic episodes. Olanzapine is indicated for the prevention of recurrence in patients with bipolar disorder who have previously responded to treatment with Olanzapine during a manic episode.
