Clopidogrel is indicated for the prevention of atherothrombotic events:

Established atherothrombotic disease

• Patients who have experienced a myocardial infarction (recently, from a few days up to less than 35 days),

• Or an ischemic stroke (from more than 7 days to less than 6 months),

• Or a diagnosed peripheral arterial disease of the lower limbs.

Non–ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome
(Unstable angina or non–Q-wave myocardial infarction)
→ Used in combination with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA).

Acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)
→ Used in combination with ASA in medically treated patients who are eligible for thrombolysis.
